Main activity
Scout Lookout from Springdale
Scout Lookout begins at the Grotto and does not require an Angels Landing permit. Continue onto Angels Landing only with the required permit.
Park day
Scout Lookout on Saturday
Friday stays on Zion Park Boulevard. Saturday uses the Zion Canyon Line for Zion Lodge and the Grotto. Sunday follows Pa'rus Trail to the museum.

Friday
Locate the nearest town-shuttle stop, walk the boulevard or a short Virgin River segment, and have dinner at Zion Canyon Brew Pub beside Zion Canyon Village.
4:00 PM
Beside Zion Canyon Village and the pedestrian entrance, with suites, a pool, and shops and dining close enough to reach on foot.
6:30 PM
Burgers, pub fare, and local beer beside Zion Canyon Village and the pedestrian entrance, convenient after returning from the park.
Saturday
Board the Zion Canyon Line at the visitor center, stop at Zion Lodge for breakfast, then continue one stop to the Grotto for Scout Lookout.
8:30 AM
A counter-service breakfast and lunch option at Zion Lodge, useful for coffee, breakfast, and simpler food during an in-canyon day.
10:00 AM
Scout Lookout is the permit-free destination. Continue onto Angels Landing only with a permit; use Riverside Walk as the lower-effort fallback when heat, exposure, or trail conditions rule out the climb.
4:30 PM
Return through the visitor center, then walk to Zion Canyon Village or use the town shuttle for the hotel and Zion Park Boulevard galleries.
7:00 PM
A Springdale dinner restaurant serving Southwestern cooking, tacos, and seasonal dishes in a lively dining room and garden patio; reservations are available.
Sunday
Start by the visitor center, follow Pa'rus Trail beside the Virgin River, and finish at the Human History Museum before the drive out.
9:00 AM
The paved Pa'rus Trail follows the Virgin River from the visitor-center area toward Canyon Junction; avoid river contact and carry water in exposed heat.
11:00 AM
If heat or a trail closure rules out Pa'rus Trail, use the museum as the short stop. Drive east only after reading the current Zion–Mt. Carmel Highway and large-vehicle notices.
